About Me
I'm Fred, and I'm a programmer currently living in London and working for Mendeley; I also work on several open source projects.
Before working for Mendeley, I studied computer science at Warwick University; before that, I attended Wells Cathedral School as a specialist musician, primarily for flute, but also classical guitar and piano.
I'm interested in C++, Qt, XSLT, less-mainstream RDBMs (in particular, IBM DB2), Slackware, and Linux in general. I also work with Windows and OSX, but they just aren't as developer-friendly.
I'm also interested in:
- Cryptography
- Rock climbing
- Watersports
If it interests you, last.fm keeps track of what I listen to, though it tends to be more indicative of what's good at blocking out noise when I'm working than what I actually like.
